Smashing stereotypes and calling for change: Meet aerospace engineer Renee Wootton

After Renee Wootton realized her life dream to be a pilot, she aimed higher… at becoming an astronaut. Ms. Wooton, a proud indigenous Tharawal woman, was recognized as one of the Top 30 Indigenous Leaders in New South Wales, Australia. She has delivered and led Australian aviation projects for the past nine years and is currently managing technical milestones of an upgrade on Australian military aircraft. In addition to being an advocate of the fight against climate change, she encourages more women to pursue STEM careers. A self described “aviation geek”, Renee Wootton believes expertise in aviation, space, infrastructure engineering and technology can be leveraged to improve the world around us.
