Three Women who have contributed to the ISS and NASA
What more high-profile way to showcase women’s contributions to science, technology, and engineering than the International Space Station, which most of us can see periodically if we look up at the sky at the right time? Among those women, Rebekah Anchondo, Suzanne Hansen, and Amy Ross have made their own contributions. Rebekah Anchondo was a private astronaut mission integrator who worked at the ISS Program’s Commercial Integration Office, where she unleashed her creativity in problem-solving. Suzanne Hansen helped in developing plans for feathering the ISS station’s solar panels to prevent them from overloading or getting contaminated during dynamic maneuvers. Amy Ross who was the daughter of an astronaut went on to work for NASA as a spacesuit designer. These three women are an important reminder of the contributions that women have made for the advancement of Space exploration.
