Donya Douglas-Bradshaw

Since joining NASA in 1991, Donya Douglas-Bradshaw has supported NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Wallops Flight Facility, and Headquarters in various roles such as project manager of multi-million dollar projects, principal investigator and manager of technology developments achieving breakthrough innovations, systems engineer of large multi-disciplinary teams, and technical line manager for senior engineers and instrument managers. She is currently the Project Manager for Lucy, a $981M mission to the Jupiter trojan asteroids, which successfully launched on October 16, 2021. Prior to Lucy, she was the Project Manager for the ICESat-2 ATLAS instrument. ATLAS, the largest and most technologically advanced instrument built in-house at Goddard, successfully launched aboard ICESat-2 on September 15, 2018. Throughout her career she has authored or co-authored over 20 publications in research and development on Capillary Pumped Loops, Loop Heat Pipes, and Variable Emittance Coatings. Donya has received numerous awards in recognition for distinguished achievement and outstanding leadership and has been featured in national magazines such as Upscale Magazine and Black Enterprise. She was also listed as one of THEGRIO.COM Top 100 History Makers in the Making. In addition to being the Lucy Project Manager, Donya recently was selected as the Deputy Director for Planning and Business Management for Goddard Space Flight Center’s Engineering & Technology Directorate. With over 1200 civil servants, ETD is one of the largest organizations across the Agency. ETD provides end-to-end engineering support to all projects covering the spectrum of Earth and space, exploration, and space operations.
