The guide for getting girls involved in STEM

A program lasting only a day or two can change young girls’ lives for the better.

“We learned that sometimes a one or two-day program can have an impact on the youth involved in a longer-term sense. We think that shorter-term programs can have an influence.” Part of a three book series, this volume focuses on short-term STEM programs for females. Women make up only about a quarter of the workforce in STEM careers, but research suggests that relatively modest investment in short-term programs to inspire and empower young women may pay off with greater representation in the long run. Nonprofit organizations, like the Space Prize Foundation, can play an important role in making short term inspirational programs a reality for young women around the world.
