NASA astronaut Christina Koch returned to Earth safely having shattered the spaceflight record for female astronauts after almost a year aboard the International Space Station.

Astronaut Christina Koch spent nearly a year on the International Space Station, and in Antarctica before that. Her experience in these confined habitats in forbidding environments gives her a unique perspective on resilience and reframing her experience in a positive way. “For me, the most important thing was reframing how I looked at it. ... I would actually picture myself in the future, wishing I could be in the environment I was in at that moment.” In this interview she shares how her experience prepared her for the COVID-19 pandemic, and how it can benefit young women pursuing careers in STEM and aerospace today.
